Sometimes I do feel like cancelling it

Posted by Chipsoapart - January 25th, 2022

there are times where I would like to cancel the seasons au fan comic and focus on a different project

but I can't because I have to finish it, which is hard since sometimes I am not interested or having motivation for it,

but then I will suddenly have a boost of motivation and interest for it but then lose it again when I start working on it

now this post doesn't mean it's cancelled, because I know how disappointed some of my followers and friends would feel if it was cancelled (and I know how disappointed I would feel)

so I may try forcing myself to work on it and not cancel it unless stuff comes up

and I have to cancel it

weirdly as I was typing this I started to feel better

You don't "have" to finish it. It's your own project, nobody has hired you to do it and whether or not you do it is up to you. I've abandoned many projects in the past. Some I came back to, most I didn't. But this is just how it goes. You can't complete every single idea you have. Some of them are just ideas.

If your friends and fans are disappointed, so what? Is this really all for your fans and your friends? Or do you do this because you find it fun? If you're doing this for everyone else, maybe it's time to quit altogether.

Forcing yourself to work on something you don't want or need to work on is just a bad idea. It will make you feel shitty, the end result won't be as great as it can be because you won't like it and it won't come out with your most passionate ideas, and really it'll feel like a waste of time if it never ends up paying off. Maybe it'll be great in the future, but for now, if it's not worth it, then it just isn't fucking worth it. Try something else and see if there's anything better.
